Well my dear family and friends... this week Madagascar kind of punched me in the face haha but hey it's fine, i'm over it! So i've been feeling kinda sick this week but over the weekend i got hit pretty hard... So that wasn't very much fun. It didn't help that it was like the coldest week of MY LIFE in Madagscar! Haha but seriously like I had to wear a sweater everyday this week! SOOO cold! I talked to the mission nurse today so hopefully i can get feeling better. Cool story though! Friday morning i woke up feeling super crappy, so I had my comp give me a blessing. Of course I had no idea what he said... Haha anywyas we have some random general confernece bits and pieces around the apartment so i put the disk in the dvd player and it was this talk by Elder Oaks.... about priesthood blessings for the sick! He talked about how the real important parts were the annointing and sealing... and the FAITH! So that was something i really needed! And it was cool that I heard it right after getting a blessing! Another cool story! On the same CD was a talk by Elder Uchtdorf about... Patience!!! WHich is something I'm really trying to work on and the talk was just like exactly what i needed to hear. SO i thought that it was cool that somehow the Lord made those two talks come up. #tendermercies Anywyas yeah it was a tough week... The workhas slowed a bit... we currently have no investigators with a bap date... we went from 5 two weeks ago... to 0. So that sucks! It's jsut hard because we have a lot of investigators that we're waiting to get vita soratra (legit married) and it takes soooo long. And it sucks cause we have to wait and there's like nothing we can do, so we teach, and they like go to churhc and stuff but it's like this never ending cycle of freaking waiting for vita soratra! Ugh. Haha but!! Alain who is like a total stud... He finished his papers yesterday!!! WOO!! Ahh! Yes! He is like such an amazing guy and he will hopefully be vita soratra next week! Ah. i needed that haha. so... let's see. Haha this week we were in this one part of our area and the next time was super far away and i was sick so we tried to find a quicker way... and we did. Via... BOAT RIDE down a little, very little stream haha. It was sooo sick. Like seriously just imagine being on this tiny little canoe in this little stream of nasty water with some malagasy dude rowing the boat with a huge chunk of wood. That was it! I took a picture BUT sadly the SD card wasn't in there... Gr... it was that kind of week haha. Another thing i took a picture of without an SD card was a food I ate. It's called Raftoto... So buckle up. It honestly looks like poop haha. It's green and mushy and has horrible texture and they serve it with pork.. On top of rice of course haha. Anywyays yeah I ate poop-ish food! It tasted fine... Didn't love it, didn't hate it. #madagascar. Haha i'm just telling you guys different things that happened throughout the week so yeah.. On tuesday i was almost speared by an Omby... Hahha so that was fun... We were walking and i like walk past the stupd cow with horns because all cows (omby) have horns here. So i walk past and it like goes down to get foood but no... It like swipes up and tries to kill me! Luckily it missed and i lived to tell the tale but yeah i'm like scared of omby (cows) now. On wedensday I wore the BAM tie that Elder Parry gave me for the first time since coming on the mission, so that was fun. Wedensday we also helped some new converts move houses and later that day when we taught them we saw... Not only Lilo and Stitch in French but also the one and only "Friends"! Ahh man it was sooo sick.... It was in french but it brought some great memories haha. On like thursday we were walking home and this guy cmae up to me and starts talking to me in surprisingly good english and like in a really nice, really funny way tells me that i need to learn more about the malagasy people, language and culture before i teach them and give them my "bible" haha. It was super funny and he did bring up a good point! So i got his number and we're teaching him wednesday haha maybe we can save this mans soul! Sunday i taught like half the lesson in sunday school... so that was interesting... I tuaght english on saturday and we learned the alphabet haha. Umm.. man sorry i know this is kind of a crappy email but it has just been a super boring, kind of crappy week. In local news i lost my wallet on a taxi today, a taxi in which the driver is our investigator... he says he couldn't see it but... you know... whatever. so no i won't be able to buy myself anything nice for my birthday... so that kind of really sucks. We had my first transfer.. Word around the street was that i had a good chance of getting mommed and we might get roomates cause our area might split. Our area is huge and we like don't even go to half of it. BUT. Nothing happened to us and my DL Elder DIckson got transferred out... so that kinda stinks... BUt hey you know what's 6 weeks? Sorry I know this has been depressing but I feel super poopy right now... Luckly no double dragon but i did come close! The pictures are a house in our area that looks like it got blown up by a bazooka and the pizza I made last night! It was good excpet i really burned the crust... Well you learn for next time. Keep the prayers coming and hopefully i can get healthy for my birthday haha. No big plans... We were going to have a party on friday with the district cause elder horne in my district has his birthday on friday but now that dickson is leaving we're not doing it. ANYWAYS! Guys i'm fine. What's the mission without some crappy weeks! I'm still pretty upbeat i'm just hoping to get over this cold! Life is hard sometimes but all of our experiences just make us better, stronger people. We'll look back and be like "man that was nothing! I'm glad it happened!" I may have lost my wallet and my first transfer might have sucked a bit but hey! That's what missions are all about! You have to have some dissapointments to get stronger! I hope you all have fantastic weeks! Watch a good movie for me! Have a great FHE! Y'all are just beautiful people! Love you all! Until next time! Mazotoa!
